In “Unity of Deities: Worship before War”, Dhaval Prajapati (b. 1990) beautifully gives us an experience of what it would have been, the moment before the battle. At the seashore, Lord Ram kneels before a Shiva lingam and performs worship. Brother Lakshman and Hanuman ji stand behind him in prayer. The sun is rising, the waves is in its rhythm, and the scene holds the value of worship.
The Vanar Sena surrounds the central scene in a complete circle. Their bodies create a living border, like an army becoming a garland. They are shown as united and attentive. Their presence suggests one clear idea: even strength waits for a blessing.
The work is built on unity. Raja Ram’s devotion to Lord Shiva, the togetherness of Ram and Lakshman, Hanuman ji’s seva, and the Vanar Sena standing as one force, all meet in a single frame. Each supports the other, and that shared spirit becomes the real power behind the coming war. Before strategy, there is prayer. The work showcases how victory begins with inner discipline, collective faith, and unity.
The artwork not only holds a special value because of its subject, but also because of the use of material, and the mixing of old school figurative and contemporary feel in the overall work. This is an interesting amalgamation of two contrasting schools.
