Mother Teresa 8ft by MF Husain

5147, Mother Teresa 8ft, 40 x 96 in, Serigraph on Paper, Limited Edition of 125, 2004, LR in English (Pencil Signed)
MF Husain’s 8-foot serigraph dedicated to Mother Teresa stands as one of his most powerful statements. At 40 x 96 inches, its monumental scale makes it a collectible experience, rare in both size and significance.
The work is a symphony of symbols and devotion. Mother Teresa appears in her iconic white sari with blue lines, multiplied into rhythmic forms that echo her mission of service through countless sisters of charity. The golden circular form behind them becomes both halo and wheel, suggesting the eternal cycle of compassion and sacrifice. The repetition of figures in white speaks of humility, discipline, and faith turned into daily action.
To the left, Krishna with his flute unites divine love with earthly compassion. Elephants, women, and humble villagers rise as icons of India’s spiritual and social fabric. The orange hand of blessing shows how Husain, a fearless artist and master of colour and composition, placed an orange hand that does not fit the palette yet never disturbs the harmony. Instead, it stands out, giving the composition a fresh break and striking energy.
Husain’s bold palette of indigo blues, earth browns, radiant gold, and that fearless orange transforms the narrative into a timeless parable. This rare large-scale serigraph (125 only) preserves service, devotion, and love in the universal language of art.
