Dancing Ganesha on Hand by M F Husain

1212, Asthavinayak, 14 x 20 in, Reproduction on Paper, Limited Edition of 500, 1998, LR in English (Pencil Signed)

Here, a vast palm opens like a stage, carrying Ganesha in graceful dance. Above hovers a luminous orb, moonlike and auspicious. The hand becomes ground and blessing, steadying while lifting.

Husain sets diagonals in the palm against the curves of dancing form, creating rhythm and poise. A dark green field deepens the space, while yellow warms the figure and grey anchors the hand like stone. Transparent washes let breath and light flow around the figure.

The blessing mudra here is assurance of balance, grace revealed as effortless harmony. The essence of the work is quiet confidence: ground always supports even as life moves upward. The mood that stays is of grace made visible, joy carried with care.
