Feel free to take a deeper look at what I’ve accomplished over the years and what I intend to do for the art world. My resume goes over the standard items, but please understand that I don’t embellish my abilities. The timeline only captures how I got started in with art and what excites me.

Born in Ahmedabad.

After assisting my father Mr. Dhanvi Shah for 2 years, I joined Marvel Art Gallery since its inception in 2004 at the age of 17.

Finished schooling from Ahmedabad’s prestigious St. Xavier’s Loyola High School.

Visited London to explore culture and understanding International Art, Museums, and Art Galleries and learnt about International Business at the age of 19.

2007

Marked my debut as a Curator with India’s leading 50 artists show at the highly acclaimed Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai and Ahmedabad’s first Mega Show at Marvel Art Gallery (hyperlink the website), thus becoming India’s youngest curator at the age of 20.
Successfully completed a short-term course at Art-Paris Abu-Dhabi, one of the world’s most luxurious art fair. Studied at Sotheby’s – world’s leading auction house, Abu Dhabi.
Participated in State level Youth Festivals, winning several awards for the College.
Made a 6 feet artwork for college annual festival, ‘Antarnaad’ and gifted to college.

2008

Completed BBA (Bachelor’s in Business Administration) from BK Majmudar Institute of Business Administration – HLBBA, Ahmedabad.
Held my second show as a curator – ‘Window to Gujarat’ promoting and exhibiting Gujarat’s upcoming and master artists at one of India’s oldest gallery – Cymroza Art Gallery, Mumbai.
Published a book titled ‘Nagarnama II’ of artist Harshil Patel. Held my 3rd exhibition as a curator and introduced an innovative concept of photography and paintings in India at the age of 21.

2009

Gave lecture to Ahmedabad’s one of the leading ladies groups on ‘How to Read Art’ and ‘How to invest in Art’ at the age of 22.
Started ‘Marvel Graphic Studio’ – one of the Marvel’s group of companies for producing quality, authentic, signed limited edition serigraphs which are an affordable art option for buying for all.
Introduced the concept of ‘Affordable Art’ in this part (which part? Western part of India?) of the region.

Published first major book on eminent artist Vrundavan Solanki’s art titled ‘Silent Conversation’ at the age of 23.
Curated first state level art competition for ‘Marvel Art Foundation – one of the Marvel’s group of companies, which witnessed more than 5000 students from schools, colleges and art colleges, at the age of 23.
Curated a Charity Show for Cancer Patients at Karnavati Club.
Curated a Heritage Show, creating awareness for Ahmedabad’s heritage through medium of art in association with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and Ahmedabad Heritage Cell.
Was the youngest member in debate on ‘Art Matters’ in a panel of art gallerists conducted by DNA newspaper at the age of 23.
Visited Hong Kong on invitation of Mr. Natvar Bhavsar, an internationally renowned artist.
Brought India’s biggest show of Printmaking to Ahmedabad along with the biggest artists and then took the show to Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi and Vadodara.
Studied, ‘Art and its Markets’, at Sothebys, London.
Visited several modern and contemporary museums for research on Jainism.

2011

With an aim to take art to the masses, I decided to create awareness through simplistic coffee table books, where I wrote about the work of several artists like Bansi Khatri, Yashwant Shirwadkar and Bhanu Shah.
Brought out the third major publication ‘Revisiting 1950s with Ratan Parimoo’ coffee table book made on the paintings created in 1950s. Made the show travel to Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Mumbai. Received acclamations from critics, art lovers and students, the coffee table book is now in the collection of Library of Congress, Washington DC.
Participated in the India Art Fair, New Delhi.

Conferred with ‘Rastriya Ratna Udhyog’ award in service sector and ‘Quality Brands’ award.
Awarded ‘Emerging Entrepreneur’ in service sector by Gujarat Chapter of SME Chambers of India at the age of 25 for excellence in the field of Art.
Curated a show on MF Husain’s first death anniversary titled ‘Tribute to Husain – Husain through the eyes of painters’.
A path breaking initiative of ‘Art Exchange’- Created a place for the buyer and seller to buy and sell their collections, at the age of 25. It was a first of its kind initiative in India in fine arts.
Launched an innovative initiative in fine arts – ‘Artworks on EMI’ (Equal Monthly Installments – without interest) to promote art and create art awareness amongst the youth. It was India’s first of its kind scheme/initiative in fine arts.

2013

As a curator, I love to collaborate with the artist at all stages of the art process and hence I travelled to 3 cities Jaisalmer, Varanasi and Florence with one of my artists and documented the artists’ thoughts and presented my art in the form of photographs and text.
On similar lines, I conducted extensive research on Greek and Miniature art in order to present detailed essays in a catalogue for a major show titled ‘The world of Ravindra Salve’. My innovative catalogues are highly appreciated in India as well as abroad.

Marvel was the official Art Partner for the Gujarati blockbuster film ‘Bey Yaar’. The entire collection of paintings that was used in the movie was curated and conceptualized by me.

Curated an art exhibition for Ahmedabad’s biggest mall ‘Alpha One’ with the aim of connecting art to larger audience.
Collaborated with India’s leading film production house, ‘Yash Raj Films’, for producing limited edition serigraphs of ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, the longest running film in India, and spy thriller ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’.

Curated Gujarat’s biggest ever public art exhibition at ‘Sabarmati Festival’ with more than 100 artists and 350 artworks – which saw the largest ever public footfall in an art exhibition in Gujarat with over 20,000 viewers.
Curated for the first time ever an exhibition celebrating Indian Art at India’s biggest white desert festival ‘Rann Utsav’ with paintings, sculptures and installations. Also managed National Art Camp at Rann Utsav.
Visit Amsterdam and Paris for FESPA Awards and Museum Hopping.

Curated India’s first inclusive, tactile art project “Art Makes Sense” to raise awareness and support children and adults suffering from deafness and/or blindness.
Curated art display at “African Development Bank Annual Meeting Project” and India Japan Annual Summit”.
Exhibited “Horses in Indian Art” at India’s Oldest Horse Festival in Sarangkheda, Maharashtra.
Collaborated with Government of India’s ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, Initiative. Empowering the girl child in India through Seema Kohli’ serigraph, ‘The Golden Womb’.
