Cosmic Centre Ganesha by M F Husain

1209, Asthavinayak, 14 x 20 in, Reproduction on Paper, Limited Edition of 500, 1998, LR in English (Pencil Signed)
The image opens into stillness: Ganesha sits radiant within a circle, while faint doubles hover like echoes of movement. Husain transforms the form into a mandala of calm, where all motion turns inward and rests.
Contours are steady and measured, arcs repeating to affirm completeness. The olive ground spreads organic calm, while the central figure shines in white, light gathering strongest at the centre before dissolving outward. Pale companions drift like memories of dance, weightless across time.
The raised hand becomes a gesture of centredness, a blessing that steadies without strain. The deeper layer reveals divinity as presence that anchors the universe. What remains is a slowing of breath, a gentle quiet that stays even after the eye moves on.
